Recently I had a musician bring me a mixing board that had gotten wet. I disassembled the unit, which didn’t take very long, and determined what had been damaged. In this case, one of the main power amplifier boards was damaged beyond repair and since the unit was old, not very valuable, and parts were not available, I advised him either find another unit like it for donor parts or get rid of it because it was not worth fixing. By the way, I didn’t charge him anything. I don’t feel right about taking someone’s money when I didn’t fix their equipment.
